I love it!!! What color are you going with? I am a little jealous, but not of all the work you're going to be doing...lol. Oh and your sisters are BEAUTIFUL! I hope they changed their minds and went today!! You'll have to post more pictures when you get going on the bus...I'd love to see the end result. :)

What on Earth are you planning to do with the bus once it is restored? Is it going to become a super-cool party van or what?

Good luck on your project. I am sure it will look amazing once it's done.

Thanks for all the love for my bus. First my mom is married to a guy that owns a body shop and he and my mother restore old cars for fun, so this will come in handy. We are going to paint it off white, and then I have a friend that is a great artist and a tattoo guy and he is going to tatto the entire bus. Then we have bought an old VW hippy van and we are using the shell and will weld the shell on top of the bus to make a sleeping quarters.
Savvy, I go to concerts all the time. I should have been born in the 1960's but I wasn't. I have friends that are also old hippies, just hippies with good jobs and we will party a little and go to concerts.
Currently we are having the motor switched out so that it can be made into a automatic instead of a standard.
It is going to be a great deal of work, but I have tons of people helping, some know what they are doing and that will leave the rest of us to do the sanding. I hate sanding.

oooh how fun!!! It's beautiful!!

You could always bag it *wink wink*

It looks like the citywalk school/taxi bus that floats around bricktown. They spent almost a year sanding that thing, which from what I heard was an old pot bus they found in the middle of nebraska. LOL

Great luck on your upcoming project!

Wow that is a lot of work but go for it. Do you go to a lot of concerts out of state?

Yes I go to tons of concerts out of state, however the one that I am trying to get it half way ready for is Bonnaroo in the middle of June in Manchester, TN. It is like a four day concert that is crazy! If you like concerts you would love this, they call it the modern day Woodstock. check it out.

You know, if you spruce it up just right, you won't have to worry about motel rooms when you travel. I think you got a good deal, even if the ole guy bent you over on the price. Good luck to you in your endeavor--maybe sometime we'll see you toolin around in town.
